Project and Travel Update

Hello Everyone! Here is a short(sort of) update on what is going on and coming for me:
1. For those that did not hear, I have begun "working" as an aspiring freelance photojournalist for The Modesto Bee, our local newspaper. The paper is a ton of fun, and I'm really enjoying everything and everyone there. This is definitely the field I would like to go into, so this has really been a great opportunity to get my feet wet.
2. In a little over a month, I will be traveling to China, to pick up a new baby sister! I will be traveling through Beijing, Zhengzhou(Henan Province), and Gaunzhou(historically known as Canton). I am very excited for this amazing opportunity to experience China in a way that most tourists are not. Many, many pictures will follow.
3. "The Wall Project" is something that was birthed on a listless Tuesday afternoon. The concept is simple: Bring trinkets from as many countries as possible on my trip to China. I'm looking for small, portable items to bring with me. Things with a story. I want to photograph them as I go along my journey. I think that this is a fun way to demonstrate that we are living in an increasingly global society, and that we are able to share our stories and experience with loved ones, even though they are thousands of miles away.
4. Minnesota: I will be making a trip up to Northern Minnesota shortly after I return from China to visit my dad and other relatives. There are some really picturesque places near where I grew up, that I can't wait to show you.
5. Weston's Journey: I picked up this gem of a camera the other day. It's an old toy 35mm Weston. It's beautiful. My idea behind this is to take this camera every time I go out to shoot: even if I just go for an afternoon walk around town. I'll definitely be lugging it around for my summer travels, and I might keep it up even longer. I can't wait to get the first roll of film scanned, and see how it turns out. You can follow Weston's Journey here: https://www.facebook.com/WestonsJourney

And on a parting note I have included some of my favorite photos from the past few months, that I have taken in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area:
