First long exposure shot with my home made Harris Shutter.
Notice the color in the star trails.
Rainbow Fire...
San Francisco subway. Unfortunately, I did not have my tripod on me, which makes for very bad pics.
Completed Harris Shutter, made with duct tape, construction paper, and some color filters I found.
This past week I built a Harris Shutter, based off of a few different descriptions and ideas I had read. The idea of a Harris Shutter is to expose a photo through Red, Blue, and Green filters, and capture some form of movement. Most all of what I was able to find online was done using photoshop, however, as I am a bit of a photo purist, I decided to give a go at building one. Please forgive me for the low quality of these images, as I am still experimenting! I hope to post a few more shots, and a complete tutorial on how to build and use a Harris Shutter in the next few days.

San Francisco- Pt 2
"Alone in A Crowded Place" A man waits for his train at the Powell St. BART Station.
"Chinatown, USA"
"The Old And The New" Coit Tower, framed by a construction crane.
"TA Building" The TransAmerica Pyramid.
"Expressions" A graffiti mural in the Mission District.
San Francisco: A land of contrasts. From the pagodas of Chinatown to the skyscrapers of the Financial District, from the slums of the Tenderloin to the mansions of Pacific Heights, SF is a city unlike any other.

South Lake Tahoe :)
Goldbug Mine
Fallen Leaf Lake
Heavenly Mountain
South Shore at Night
I recently traveled to South Lake Tahoe. These are some of my favorite images from the weekend. I attempted a long exposure of the lake at night, however, the light of the city severely detracted my ability to do so... The mountains and the lake make for a stunning vista, as seen from Heavenly Mountain. I found just as much beauty below ground, however, when I descended into the Goldbug Mine, near Placerville. After a harrowing mountain drive, we found ourselves at Fallen Leaf Lake, an incomparable gem set high in the Sierras. All in all a great weekend spent in California's winter wonderland.
